Avantasia es un supergrupo de power metal sinfónico con influencias de ópera, formado en Fulda (Alemania) en 2000, por el vocalista y líder de la banda de power metal Edguy, Tobias Sammet. El nombre de este proyecto es una mezcla de dos palabras: Ávalon y Fantasía y «describe un mundo más allá de la imaginación humana».
