Armored Saint es una banda de heavy metal, fundada en 1982 en Los Ángeles, California (Estados Unidos).

La banda fue formada en 1982 por el cantante John Bush, los guitarristas Dave Pritchard y Phil Sandoval, el bajista Joey Vera y el batería Gonzo (hermano de Phil). Armored Saint editó un EP con tres canciones en 1983, con la compañía Metal Blade records.

Posteriormente la banda lanzó tres álbumes con Chrysalis. En 1984 publicaron su primer trabajo, "March of the Saint", seguido de "Delirious Nomad", en 1985, y en 1987 vio la luz "Raising Fear". Sin embargo nunca alcanzaron mucho éxito con Chrysalis y en 1989 volvieron a firmar con Metal Blade records.

En 1989 la banda lanzó "Saints Will Conquer". Al poco tiempo de lanzado el disco, le diagnosticaron leucemia al guitarrista Dave Pritchard. Pritchard y el resto de la banda decidieron volver al estudio y comenzar a trabajar para su siguiente álbum. Antes de que la banda pudiera terminarlo, Pritchard murió. Después de su muerte la banda permaneció inactiva durante un breve período. Posteriormente reclutaron a Jeff Duncan para ocupar la vacante de Dave Pritchard y regresaron al estudio con la idea de acabar el álbum, titulado "Symbol of Salvation", el cual logró un cierto éxito comercial.

Durante los comienzos de Armored Saint, John Bush era muy popular en la Bay Area debido a su potente voz, poco habitual en la escena rock de Los Ángeles. Fue en los primeros años de vida del grupo cuando Metallica invitó a Bush a formar parte de la banda. Dicha invitación nunca pasó a ser vinculante, y a día de hoy el cantante de Metallica sigue siendo James Hetfield. También, tras la muerte del bajista de Metallica, Cliff Burton, Joey Vera pasó por las audiciones realizadas por la banda en busca de un sustituto.

Tras el lanzamiento del "Symbol of Salvation", a John Bush le ofrecieron ser el cantante de Anthrax tras la marcha de Joey Belladona, en 1992. Inseguro del futuro de la banda, Bush aceptó el trabajo y los miembros restantes disolvieron Armored Saint oficialmente tras el anuncio de Bush. Tras la separación de Armored Saint, el bajista Joey Vera formó parte de diversas bandas (Fates Warning, Lizzy Borden y Chroma Key). Posteriormente, lanzó un álbum en solitario en 1994 y comenzó su carrera como un productor e ingeniero de sonido.

En 1999, mientras Anthrax estaban temporalmente inactivos, John Bush se reunió con Joey Vera y juntos decidieron reformar Armored Saint. Volvieron al estudio y en 2000, "Revelation" fue lanzado seguido de una pequeña gira. Al año siguiente la banda lanzó un álbum recopilatorio, titulado "Nod to the Old School", que contiene una colección de temas clásicos de la banda (muchos de ellos de la época de Pritchard), más algunos nuevos que fueron lanzados. Después de este lanzamiento John Bush volvió con Anthrax y Armored Saint pasó a la inactividad de nuevo.

Impellitteri es un grupo de heavy metal estadounidense formado y liderado por el guitarrista Chris Impellitteri en 1987. Descendiente de italianos, Satriani nació en Nueva York. Su pasión por la guitarra empezó a la edad de 14 años, después de enterarse de la muerte de Jimi Hendrix. En 1974 Satriani empezó a estudiar música con el guitarrista de jazz Billy Bauer y el pianista Lennie Tristano. Este último fue una gran referencia para el sonido virtuoso de Joe. Satriani pasó de ser alumno a enseñar guitarra, siendo Steve Vai su pupilo más notable.

En 1978, Satriani se trasladó a Berkeley, California para iniciar una carrera musical. Establecido en California, continuó con la docencia musical. Joe "Satch" Satriani (Westbury, Nueva York, 15 de julio de 1956) es un guitarrista de Rock Instrumental estadounidense. Fue nominado en 15 ocasiones a los Premios Grammy y ha vendido más de 10 millones de discos en todo el mundo.

Según otros guitarristas ha conseguido dominar casi todas las técnicas de ejecución de su instrumento, incluyendo tapping a dos manos, sweep picking, volume swells y tap harmonics. Además es reconocido como un gran profesor de guitarra, entre sus alumnos se incluyen:[cita requerida] Steve Vai, Tom Morello, Alex Skolnick, Larry LaLonde, Andy Timmons, Reb Beach, Rick Hunolt, Charlie Hunter y Kirk Hammett.

Satriani inició su carrera en la agrupación The Squares. Luego fue invitado a unirse a la banda de Greg Kihn, el cual se encontraba en el final de su carrera musical, pero que generosamente se encargó de ayudar a Satriani a pagar la deuda de la grabación de su primer trabajo discográfico, Not of This Earth. Cuando su amigo y antiguo alumno Steve Vai consiguió fama tocando para la agrupación de David Lee Roth en 1986, seguía mostrando gran admiración por Joe en muchas entrevistas.

En 1989 lanzó el álbum Flying in a Blue Dream, al parecer inspirado en la reciente muerte de su padre, quien falleció en 1989 durante las grabaciones del disco. La canción "One Big Rush" hizo parte de la banda sonora de la película de Cameron Crowe Say Anything.... "The Forgotten Part II" fue utilizada en un comercial canadiense de la marca Labatt Blue en 1993.

Siouxsie And The Banshees fue una banda británica formada en 1976. Pioneros del movimiento post-punk su música continuó evolucionando hacia el rock alternativo en sus álbumes y hacia el pop en sus sencillos. Siouxsie and the Banshees fue una de las bandas más innovadoras del movimiento post-punk.3​ El álbum debut de Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Scream (1978), provocó la aclamación de la crítica británica. Con la llegada del nuevo guitarrista John McGeoch en 1980, la banda exploró nuevas texturas sonoras en Kaleidoscope, un álbum que llegó al top 5 en el Reino Unido.

In the Woods... es una banda noruega de avant-garde metal formada en 1991 en Kristiansand. Publicó un total de cuatro álbumes de estudio, tres sencillos, un álbum recopilatorio y un álbum en directo hasta su desaparición en el año 2000. Mr. Mister fue una banda estadounidense de estilo pop rock y soft rock, formada en Phoenix, Arizona, en el año 1982. Firmaron contrato en el año 1984, con RCA Records. Sus mayores éxitos fueron las baladas «Broken Wings», «Kyrie» e «Is It Love», todas del año 1985. La banda estaba compuesta por Richard Page en la voz principal y bajo, Steve George en teclados / coros, Pat Mastelotto en batería acústica y electrónica / percusión y Steve Farris en guitarras / coros. Mr. Mister fue el sucesor de la banda Pages, liderada por Page y George de 1978 a 1981.

El nombre de la banda proviene de una broma sobre el álbum de Weather Report Mr. Gone, en el que se referían entre ellos como "Mister This" o "Mister That", y finalmente seleccionaron "Mr. Mister".

Incidente en "Viña del Mar 1988"

El jueves 18 de febrero de 1988, durante la emisión del XXIX Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar en Chile, el bajista y vocalista del grupo, Richard Page, leyó una declaración a favor de los artistas amenazados, perseguidos y castigados por la dictadura militar chilena, lo que produjo que se cortara la emisión televisiva de su show generando la incredulidad tanto de sus seguidores como del público en general.
